Ford Figo, Freestyle and Aspire were available with 2 petrol and 1 Diesel engine option which includes 1.2 L petrol, 1.5 Petrol AT and 1.5 Diesel.Out of these three engines, 1.5 L petrol engine which was capable of producing 121 BHP @ 6,500 RPM of power and 150 Nm @ 4,500 RPM of maximum torque and was offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission.Now this engine for all the three Ford cars have been discountinued and there is not word yet on the replacement of this unit.
Ford Figo, Freestyle and Aspire will now be offered with 1.2 L Petrol engine with 95 BHP @ 6500 RPM and 120 NM @ 4250 RPM of torque and 1.5 L TDCi Diesel engine which produces 99 BHP @ 3750 RPM and 215 NM @ 1750 RPM.Both these engines will be made BS-VI compliant in the coming weeks.
Along with this, Absolute Black colour in Figo, Aspire and Freestyle has also been removed while the Deep Impact Blue colour offered in Figo and Aspire has also discountinued.Other than this, no changes have been made.
These three cars are garnering an average sale of 700 units per month.All the Ford cars will be made BS-VI compliant in the coming week and a slight price hike will also be announced.
Ford Ecosport has been the best seller for the carmakers for a long time.The compact SUV has been very consistent with an average sale of 3,500 units per month.Few months back, it got a upgrade in which variants were shuffled along with certain changes to feature list and interior upholstery were made.
Now this leaked online document states the discontinuation of Ecosport’s 1.0 litre 3 cylinder Ecoboost petrol engine which produces 125 PS @ 6000 RPM and 170 NM @ 1500 – 4500 RPM of peak torque.It is mated to 6 speed manual gearbox and the claimed fuel efficiency is 17.6 kmpl.
After the removal of 1.0 L GTDI petrol engine from the engine lineup of Ecosport, the compact SUV would now be offered with 1.5 litre petrol and 1.5 litre Diesel engine.And these two gasoline motors will be upgraded to BS-VI in the coming weeks.
The 1.5 L 4 cylinder Ti-VCT petrol motor makes 123 PS @ 6500 RPM and 150 NM @ 4500 RPM.This unit is paired to 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic gearbox with fuel efficiency of 16.5 kmpl for manual option and 14.6 kmpl for the automatic transmission option.And the 1.5 litre TDCi gets only the option of 5 speed manual with claimed mileage of 23 kmpl and the power and torque figures are 100 PS @ 3750 RPM and 205 NM @ 1750 – 3250 RPM.
Both the petrol as well as diesel variants of Ford Ecosport are receive equal response in the market.After the removal of 1.0 GTDI petrol EcoBoost engine, Ecosport will be offered in Base Ambient, Trend, Titanium, Titanium+, Thunder Edition and S model.Colour options includes Canyon Ridge, Race Red, Lighting Blue, Diamond White, Moondust Silver, Absolute Black and Smoke Grey.
Currently, Ford Ecosport is priced between Rs. 7.91 Lakhs and Rs. 11.45 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).With the launch of BS VI engines, the prices are expected to go higher by Rs. 15,000 for petrol variants and around 50,000 for the diesel trims.
Also along with this, Ford Endeavour which was earlier offered in 6 colour options now has got three colours discontinued which includes Smoke Grey, Moondust Silver and Sunset Red.Now the flagship SUV comes only in three exterior paints which are Absolute Black, Diamond White and Diffused Silver.
Ford Endeavour will be getting the BS-VI compliant in a time of few days.The SUV is expected to do with both the existing Diesel engines – 2.2 L and 3.2 L and may get all new 2 litre diesel unit mated to 10 speed automatic transmission so as to avoid a big hike of 3 – 4 Lakhs on upgradation of 3.2 Litre unit.
