Hyundai India has launched Naamkaran online campaign on August 16 for naming it’s upcoming Hyundai hatchback codenamed AH2.Hyundai is going to launch it’s new hatchback on October 23 and is going to be positioned between Eon and Grand i10.
The Company launched the Naamkaran online contest on August 16 so that participants can suggest name for it’s upcoming AH2 hatchback and even they are aggressively promoting the campaign on social media and in Hyundai dealerships.They claim that they have already received more than 1.5 lakh replies and is expected to cross the 5 lakh mark when it ends on September 15.
The Senior General Manager and Group Head,Marketing at Hyundai India has confirmed that the ‘Santro’ was the choice of majority of the participants.
This will be the 2nd generation Santro which will continue with tall boy design for which it was so popular and helped the carmakers to capture the market.
While taking certain design clues from Grand i10 and XCent,New Santro 2018 will be based on i10’s platform and will be taller and wider than i10.
2018 Santro will sports interior similar to that of Grand i10.It will include features like steering mounted controls with advanced MID and touchscreen infotainment system,reverse parking camera,cooled glove box and much more.The front seat headrest will be integrated along with power window controls placed near the gearbox plus rear air-con will not make way to Santro.
Santro will get only one powertrain at the time of launch and that will be the 1.1-litre petrol engine with 68 hp of power which will get 5-speed manual and AMT transmission.Later a smaller 800 cc engine and a1200 cc petrol engine is expected to be introduced in New Santro.
Santro 2018 will be launched with a introductory price of Rs. 3.5 lakhs with the top-spec model breaching the Rs. 6 lakhs mark.
