Bookings for Land Rover Defender are already open and deliveries will start from August 2020

Land Rover India has finally launched the much awaited Defender in India at a introductory price of Rs. 69.99 Lakhs (Ex Showroom Price).The Defender is offered in two body styles, 90 (3 Door) and 110 (5 Door).It has been brought as Completely Built Unit (CBU).

In terms of dimensions both the 3 door and 5 door variants are 2,008 mm wide while the length, height and wheelbase of 3 door version are 4,583 mm, 1,974 mm and 2,587 mm respectively.The 5 door trims is longer, taller and has longer wheelbase with dimensions of 5,018 mm, 1,967 mm and 3,022 mm respectively.

Land Rover Defender comes in 5 variants with both the 3 and 5 door offered in all the variants.The variant list includes Base, S, SE, HSE and First Edition.The base variant of Defender 90 begins from Rs. 69.99 Lakhs with the top spec trim costing Rs. 81.30 Lakhs while the Defender 90 comes in the bracket of Rs. 76.57 Lakhs and Rs. 86.27 Lakhs (All Prices, Ex Showroom).The 3 door variant comes as a 5 seater car while the Defender 110 5 door comes in 5+2 seating configuration.

Under the hood, Land Rover Defender features 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with power and torque figures of 300 PS and 400 NM respectively.It gets Land Rover’s All Wheel Drive System and comes mated to 8 speed automatic transmission.0-100 kmph comes in 8.0 seconds for 90 and for 110 it is 8.1 seconds.

Some of the top features of Land Rover Defender are 10 inch touchscreen infotainment system, heads up display, automatic climate control system, connected car technology, 12,3 inch all digital instrument console, Meridian sound system, wireless charging, LED headlamps, Electronic Air Suspension (Standard in 110), central console with refrigerated compartment, 12 way power adjustable and heated front seats, 360 degree surround view camera among others.Standard safety feature list includes blind spot monitor, front and rear parking sensors, front, side and curtain airbags, traction control, ABS and driver condition monitor.The SUV can be personalised as per the requirement via the multiple accessory packs available.

Land Rover defender off road

Bookings for the SUV are already underway with deliveries beginning from August 2020.The SUV takes on the likes of Mercedes Benz G 350D and Jeep Wrangler.Defender will join the Land Rover lineup of cars which includes Land Rover Evoque, Discovery Sport, Velar, Sport and Range Rover.
